The beauty of the Blackwater dive is the animals we get to witness, many of which remain yet to be identified. The kinds of animals we will see on the Blackwater are wide ranging in their diversity.
We have been compiling information about these animals for several years, having worked with scientists from Monterey Bay Aquarium, Scripps Institute, and the Smithsonian's larval fishes department. We will update this page regularly.

INVERTEBRATES
Includes, but not limited to: Radiolarian colonies, Cydippid ctenophore, Beroid ctenophore, Lobate ctenophore, Calycophoran siphonophore, Physonect siphonophore, Hydromedusa.
VERTEBRATES
Includes many reef/benthic species in thier larval stages, as well as many pelagic fish species.
